About this Blog

I’ll be posting announcements, documentation, changelogs, and other tips & tricks I pick up as I churn up a fury of programming projects.

A little about myself: a 4th year combined bio and computer science major with too many ideas and not enough time (yet still enough to update this blog). Java is my weapon of choice for GUI apps in javax.swing.*; and enterprise webapps with JavaServer Faces. PHP is great too, but I find its code quickly turns into a steaming heap of spaghetti. I’ve worked on intership as a J2EE developer with IBM and as a C#/ASP.NET developer with Microsoft.

Hopefully this collection of projects, code bits and techy morsels will help keep your inspiration lightbulb burning (or electrofluorescing if you live in the future).

Enjoy!

  1. I can’t seem to get minecontrol to launch in mac osx 10.6.5. When it opens it says “unable to launch the application” Can you email me with any help? Thanks.

  2. awesome blog, minecontrol a must have for windows users

  3. Make a version of MineControl for other games and other
    addable renameable control profiles.

Even though Minecontrol works for all games anyways. I tested.
I would like to see other games and profiles for those games to be there
so I don’t need to keep swithching my button mappings.

Oh and fix the problem where the cursor moves on its own!!!!

  4. Can’t find Device. it remains blank
    Windows 7 64bit

  5. You should consider adding Ctrl to the button mapping so this program can be used for more than just Minecraft.

  6. I’ve tried to use Minecontrol-but when it runs, it says that the application is blocked because of security settings. Do you know which security settiings would block Minecontrol?

  7. same problem as Christopher

  8. above issue solve here is a link to video to fix Java Security issues https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXfr3Q44_hw

  9. Hey, add a favicon to your blog.

  10. Minecontrol has completely stopped working for me, every time I try to run it, I get a box with a red stop-sign shape in it, that says “Unable to launch the application. It gives me 2 options- “ok” and “Details” Clicking “ok” closes the program, clicking “Details” gives me and error report that goes somthing like-

    java.lang.StackOverflowError
    at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.CacheEntry.updateIndexHeaderOnDisk(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.CacheEntry.invalidateEntry(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.CacheEntry.invalidateEntryDueToException(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.CacheEntry.access$700(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.CacheEntry$3.run(Unknown Source)
    at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.CacheEntry.(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.CacheEntry.(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.Cache.getCacheEntryFromIdxFiles(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.deploy.cache.Cache.getCacheEntry(Unknown Source
and it just repeats the last few lines over and over like 1000 times.

  11. As far as the security issue goes, I went into great lengths trying to let it through my security setting, only to find that the simple solution of going into the programs properties and setting it to run as an administrator fixed my problem much easier and quicker.

As far as how it works, it works great for what was built for, i have issues where my commands seem to stick but at this point I am not sure if it is the program or my controller.

I would like however to see implemented the use of mapping profiles so that it can be use for more tasks.

Overall I love it 5/5 and enjoy using my Xbox 360 controller as a mouse.

  12. when i download it all it gives me is a notpad and wont let me run the program all it does is show the programming how do i run it?
